Founded by island residents in 2007, WOVV began as an online station in 2009 and expanded to FM broadcasting at 90.1 the following year. Originally housed in a cozy studio overlooking Silver Lake, we found our current home in 2016—relocating to the historic fire station just across from Ocracoke Coffee Company.
WOVV is driven by a dedicated team of passionate volunteers and a small part-time staff. Our programming offers a vibrant mix of music, live local sports, community interviews, and essential emergency updates.
